What Qualification Will I Get After Completing The Level 2 Cctv Course

If you want a rewarding career in the private security industry, you might have considered becoming a CCTV operator. CCTV operators monitor and control the surveillance cameras in public spaces, such as shopping malls, airports, or stadiums.

They play a vital role in preventing and detecting crimes and ensuring public safety. But what qualifications do you need to work as a CCTV operator? And how can you obtain it?

In this blog post, we will answer these questions and explain how you can complete the Level 2 CCTV Course, the mandatory training program for aspiring CCTV operators in the UK.

By the end of this post, you will have a clear idea of what to expect from the course, how to apply for it, and what benefits it will bring to your career. So, let’s get started!

The Qualification I Will Get After Completing The Level 2 Cctv Course!

After completing a Level 2 CCTV course, you will be awarded the Pearson BTEC Level 2 Award for Working as a CCTV Operator (Public Space Surveillance) within the Private Security Industry.

The Security Industry Authority (SIA), the UK government regulating the private security industry, accredited this qualification.

The Level 2 Award covers a range of topics, including:

  • The role of a CCTV operator
  • The law relating to CCTV surveillance
  • The use of CCTV equipment
  • The maintenance and repair of CCTV equipment,
  • The ethical and legal considerations of CCTV surveillance
  • The investigation of CCTV footage

To pass the course, you will need to complete a written exam and a practical assessment. The written exam will test your knowledge of the course material, while the practical assessment will test your ability to use and maintain CCTV equipment.

The Level 2 Award is a requirement for obtaining an SIA CCTV Operator Licence. This license is required to work as a CCTV operator in the UK.

Here are some benefits of obtaining the Level 2 Award for Working as a CCTV Operator in the Private Security Industry:

  • It will allow you to apply for an SIA CCTV Operator Licence.
  • It will give you the skills and knowledge you need to work as a CCTV operator.
  • It will make you more marketable to employers.
  • It will help you to advance your career in the security industry.

If you are interested in a career in CCTV surveillance, I recommend completing a Level 2 CCTV course. It is a valuable qualification that will open up many opportunities for you.
