Apply For The Level 2 Upskilling Door Supervisor Top Up Certification Step by Step!

Step 1: Check You Meet the Prerequisites

Before applying, you need to ensure you meet the requirements to take the Level 2 Top Up training course. These include:

  • You must hold a current SIA Door Supervisor license.
  • You should have accrued over 500 hours of practical experience working as a door supervisor. This is around 3-6 months of full-time work.
  • You need a valid first aid certification.
  • You must pass an identity check.

Meeting these prerequisites shows you have the basic knowledge and experience needed to take on the more advanced Level 2 training.

Step 2: Choose Your Training Provider

Many institutions offer SIA approved Level 2 Door Supervisor courses. Do your research to pick the best one for your needs. Key factors to consider are:

  • Delivery method – Options include online, in-person, or blended training. Choose what suits your schedule and learning style.
  • Trainer expertise – Look for instructors with extensive real-world experience as door supervisors.
  • Cost – Prices vary so find a provider offering value for money.
  • Reviews – Check out feedback from past students on factors like quality of teaching and support received.

Once you’ve selected a trusted training provider like BS Security, you’re ready to apply for a course place.

Step 3: Submit Your Application

Applying is straightforward. You will need to provide:

  • Personal details – Full name, contact information, date of birth, etc.
  • Proof of identity – Usually a passport or driver’s license.
  • Evidence of current SIA Door Supervisor license
  • Documentation of 500+ hours of work as a door supervisor
  • Valid first aid certificate
  • Payment for course fees

Reputable providers like BS Security have an easy online application process. You complete their application form and upload copies of your documents. Double check all details are accurate before submitting.

Step 4: Undertake the Identity Check

Part of the application involves an identity check. The training provider will verify your identity documents match those you submit. This check ensures you are who you claim to be – an essential security measure.

You may need to have a verified photo taken at the training centre or appointment. This adds an extra layer of identity confirmation. Passing the ID check is required to undertake the course.

Step 5: Get Acceptance Notification

Once your application is processed, the training provider will send confirmation that you are enrolled on the course. This notification email or letter outlines important details like:

  • Dates for classroom or online learning sessions
  • Schedule for exams and practical assessments
  • Required pre-course reading and activities

This information helps you prepare and get ready to commence the Level 2 Top Up program.

Step 6: Complete Online Study

Most courses require some self-directed study before the face-to-face classes begin. This involves reading materials and completing online learning modules related to the course curriculum.

Completing this study ensures you have the foundation knowledge needed for the intensive class sessions. It helps maximize your learning once the course starts.

With your prerequisites satisfied, provider chosen, and application approved, you’ll be all set to undertake the training for your Level 2 Door Supervisor certification.
