Let’s dive deep into why having industry professionals as instructors matters, how it transforms your learning experience, and what sets BS Security apart in this crucial aspect of security education.

The Value of Industry Experience in Security Training

When it comes to security training, theoretical knowledge is just the tip of the iceberg. The real value lies in practical, hands-on experience that only industry professionals can provide. Here’s why:

  1. Real-world relevance: Industry professionals bring current, relevant examples to the classroom, making abstract concepts tangible and applicable.
  2. Up-to-date knowledge: The security field evolves rapidly. Professionals actively working in the industry stay abreast of the latest trends, threats, and technologies.
  3. Network opportunities: Instructors with industry connections can provide valuable networking opportunities for students.
  4. Credibility: Learning from someone who’s “been there, done that” adds credibility to the training program and boosts student confidence.
  5. Problem-solving skills: Industry professionals can teach not just the “what” but the crucial “how” of security problem-solving.

According to a study by the SANS Institute, 76% of cybersecurity professionals believe that hands-on, practical experience is the most important factor in advancing their careers[1]. This underscores the importance of learning from those who have that experience.
